We’re Part of a Particle Party

Determinism
A little bit hungry a little bit thirsty
A little bit chilly or hot
The body is quick to recover its comfort
With methods and weapons and stuff that it's got
A tiny bit tetchy or moany and sulky
Then massively grumpy and cross
Now slugging each other with bodily measures
The brain is involved but it isn't the boss
It must be those particles smaller than atoms
Cavorting for billions of years
That randomly bring us our moods of the moment
Along with our neurones and eyeballs and ears
So everything past if you lived it all over
Would happen the absolute same
It’s very amusing you thought you were choosing
When bosons* were always to blame

* in particle physics, everything in the universe is either a boson or a fermion, so a decision is just an illusion
