Reincarnation as a Ball of Garden String

What I might say to the climbing roses
I'd tie you up nicely not fiercely not tightly
I'd tie you up lightly and gently with care
I'd save you from flapping and bending and snapping
And recklessly reaching too high in the air
We'd stay in fine places see only kind faces
Have all of the sunshine and birdsong and rain
But tethered together I'd shelter from weather
And I'd have the pleasure with none of the pain
You'd still get diseases and danger from breezes
And bugs and disorders and predatory threats
But I would be stable and sturdy and able
To tell you this life is as good as it gets

  1. I really love this. The ways to interpret it. Is it referring to my much loved passion flower, clematis and other climbers.? Or is it referring to the care and love we should have for each other. The choice is yours. Either way is wonderful.
