A winter break with 30 friends who share a certain skill
We’ve come from Radiation to Vacation in Seville
The best of outings organised accommodation found
Valencia region flooded and 300 Spaniards drowned
November 6th we wake to further catastrophic news
Decide to face reality and give up pressing snooze
Avoid the screen pretend it’s not a big historic day
We’ll prance about the city and forget the USA
So breakfasted in comfy gear we’re eager to be led
Regaled with tales enthused bemused and horrified and fed
Another plate of tapas as a tasty snackeroo
Will punctuate the list of many other things to do
One trip for sipping sherry one to watch the setting sun
Explore Cadiz return and make the opera at a run
Flamenco flashing eyes the wailing song the swirling skirt
Guitar and heel so fast you feel the feet and fingers hurt
Our cash could help the country deal with dire impending debts
We boosted trade in marmalade and cake and castanets
It never rained a drop we had a lovely place to stay
And all were counted out with not a sinner washed away
