Les Mis

Sad about the story or about having to watch
Well that was really different
All those complicated scenes
Are we off for gin and tonics
Those are very trendy jeans

Oh right your favourite moments
Yes the hero bared his soul
and all the actors sighed with pain
in every single role
I saw you watch in rapture
so I mustn’t let you guess
I wished it would be over
sixty seconds in or less

I won't say it was dreary
to the point of suicide
or how the lyrics made me feel
like puking up inside

I won't describe the nightmare where
I couldn't scream or run
or whisper in a witty way
and spoil a person’s fun

Now as we leave this place of woe
and agony and grief
I’m sure that half the weeping throng
is crying with relief

  1. I have to say, I think this is the first time I’ve felt personally attacked by a poem 🤣 I was obsessed with Les Mis for quite a time, and yes, sobbed in London at the heartbreak of it all…although, that heartbreak was forgotten as soon as dinner at the Ivy was served 😂
